The cadets and midshipmen attending the United States service academies are one of the most extraordinary groups of young people you will ever become associated with. Within their ranks are the future leaders of our great nation. These exceptional young men and women chose to attend college in a most strenuous academic and value-based education environment. In making that decision, they also chose to make a commitment to serve, to protect, and to defend our country and the freedom it stands for.
Each December, the formal All Academy Ball is held to provide the community and citizens of our state an opportunity to honor and meet these outstanding young Oklahomans. Special recognition is given to the senior cadets and midshipmen who are about to embark on their mission to protect the citizens and values of our Great Nation.
The All Academy Ball also provides a unique venue to allow interaction between cadets and midshipmen from the individual military colleges. It is always exciting to observe these young men and women enjoy an evening together in camaraderie and to hear the thoughts and inspirations of the keynote speaker. If you attend, I am sure you would also enjoy the evening spent with these young people; attired in their dress uniforms of the various academies. You will meet and talk with students from the United States Air Force Academy, The United States Naval Academy, The United States Military Academy, The United States Coast Guard Academy, and the United States Merchant Marine Academy. This interaction, combined with the military pageantry, a superb meal, the inspiration of the invited keynote speaker, and, not to mention the dance afterwards, combine for an unforgettable and educational evening.
The Air Force Academy Parents Clubs of Oklahoma have the honor to plan, host, and finance this important event to be held December 28, 2007 on the grounds of the elegant Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. The All Academy Ball is a major undertaking for the entirely volunteer Parents Clubs. Attendees usually number between three and four hundred people. Because our club receives no financial assistance from the academies or the government, and exists only to provide education and support for our cadets we need patriotic and supportive sponsors to assist in providing funding for this event.
